The 2024 ANF GA Conference welcomed representatives from six nations: Japan Quality Assurance Organization (JQA - Japan), Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL - Korea), China Quality Certification Centre Co., Ltd. (CQC - China), Taiwan Testing and Certification (ETC - Taiwan), TUV-SUD PSB (TUV-SUD – Singapore), Electrical and Electronics Institute (EEI – Thailand), QUATEST 3 (Vietnam) and 100 Japanese enterprises’ representatives.Of which, QUATEST 3 delegation comprised five representatives in various roles: Mr. Nguyen Anh Triet, Deputy Director, attended C1 contributing to the development of ANF policy; Mr. Vu Thanh Cong, Head of IT and Promotion Dept., participated in the reporting and exchange program at C2; Mr. Truong Van Thach, Head of Electrical Inspection Dept., delivered a presentation on CR certification activities and provided updates on the new CR mark regulations related to electrical – electronic products entering the Vietnamese market, he discussed the content of C3 and C4 along with other member organizations; Mr. Luong Trong Si, head of EMC Laboratory, played a key role in C5 and Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh, a specialist from IT & Promotion Dept, served as the technical secretary of C2 and supported ANF’s overall operations.

The 2024 ANF GA Conference featured the following committee discussions:
Committee tasks: ANF member organizations agreed to establish committees to promote linkages between Asian certification/testing organizations and facilitate transactions in Asia and elsewhere
C1 – Committee 1 – Policy – JQA: Focused on the establishment and regular updating of policies governing ANF’s activities and structure.
C2 – Committee 2 – Promotion & Marketing – QUATEST 3: Worked to enhance the visibility of ANF’s services among current and prospective members as well as other partners.
C3 – Committee 3 – Electrical Safety – KTL: Aimed at promoting ANF activities to members, candidates and other competitions and sell ANF products, implemented processes, procedures and requirements to improve members’ technical abilities and skills in mutual collaboration.
Mr. Truong Van Thach presented the content and areas of CR certification activities, updating the regulations of MOST’s EE products & MIC’s ICT products
C4 – Committee 4 – Energy, Health and Environment – CQC: Seeked to reflect ANF’s harmonized position and views and unify ANF stance on standardization and conformity assessment in regional and international forums.
C5 – Committee 5 – EMC/RF and Factory Inspection – ETC: Addressed harmonization of ANF views in regional and international contexts concerning standards and conformity assessment.
C6 – Committee 6 – Young Expert Program (YEP) - CQC, focused on developing international leadership skills and fostering cooperation among young professionals, with a report on the 2024 ANF YEP held from September 3-5 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan.
C7 – Committee 7 – “New Normal” Program – CQC, aimed to adapt international leadership skills and cooperation strategies to new global trend while further strengthening the ANF brand.
The 2024 ANF GA Conference in Osaka was highly beneficial, providing a valuable platform for knowledge exchange in technical matters, policies, standards and conformity assessments among participants. The QUATEST 3 delegation also used the opportunity to clearly communicate Vietnam’s standards and conformity assessments regulations to foreign partners, assisting Japanese businesses better understand and access the Vietnamese market more easily and conveniently.
